Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the Mechanical, Electrical and Process Team in the UK. You will support delivery of multi-disciplined projects, either in an office or on site, gaining hands-on experience as part of a supportive team.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, have a driving licence, and possess strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate must have a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Valid driving license is essential.
• Develop understanding of M&E principles and practices.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of design and build projects, mainly in Water and Wastewater sectors.
• Be onsite with the project team or office-based with project management and design colleagues.
• Liaise with clients and supply chain; coordinate M&E suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review constructability of drawings and designs from Suppliers.
• Oversee activities of M&E subcontractors and suppliers on site.
• Assist with safety culture, O&M manuals and commissioning plans.

About The Role

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will work as part of the Mechanical, Electrical and Process Team to provide support in the delivery of multi-disciplined projects. You will be based in an operational office or out on site depending on the delivery phase of the project. If working on site, you will be working alongside a commissioning engineer. A supportive team will be behind you, and you’ll be given every opportunity to progress and develop your skills and get involved in the work carried out by an Electrical Engineer each day.

What you’ll be doing:

• You will help support the delivery of design and build construction projects predominantly within the Water and Wastewater sectors.
• Though largely ‘onsite’ supporting the site Project Team in coordinating multiple aspects of projectsyou will spend time office based with project management, design and commercial colleagues
• Liaising with our clients and supply chain and involved in direct management of our projects through our Mechanical & Electrical suppliers
• Reviewing constructability of drawings and designs of Suppliers
• Overseeing the activities of M&E Sub-Contractors & Suppliers on the Site
• Assist with maintaining our safety culture of our critical designs, health & safety documentation, O&M manuals, and commissioning plans.

What we’re looking for:

• Graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• Valid driving license
• An ability to develop understanding of civil engineering principles and practices that are impacted by M&E. Have excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
