Job summary

Cundall in the United Kingdom is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services team, contributing to energy-efficient and sustainable design on diverse projects including data centres and corporate HQs.

You will work with experienced engineers on electrical distribution, lighting, security and related building services, gaining hands-on design exposure and progression toward chartership through our accredited programs.

Qualifications

• On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
• Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in Electrical Engineering, Building Design or Critical Systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical building services design and analysis for projects.

The Role You'll Play

In this Graduate Electrical Engineer role, you’ll join a team who specialise in the design of some of the most exciting construction projects in the UK and worldwide.

Working closely with colleagues across our multi‑disciplinary practice, you’ll provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors including education, healthcare, workplace, retail and critical systems (data centres).

Under the guidance of our team of experienced engineers, we’ll equip you to undertake detailed electrical building services engineering design and analysis, defining and translating clients’ needs into designs for buildings, facilities and services (electrical distribution and power generation, lighting design, security systems etc) - all with sustainability at the forefront of the design.

You’ll have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and with accredited professional development programmes from CIBSE and IET, you’ll be fully supported towards achieving chartership.

The Skills You’ll Bring

• On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.
• Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• Have a keen interest in Electrical Engineering, particularly withing Building Design or Critical Systems
• Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, be organised and methodical when managing tasks, priorities and deadlines.
• Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Parametric ModellingTechniques(Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).
• Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.
