Description

You’ll play a key role in supporting the design and development of critical infrastructure projects across OCU's utility and energy sectors. Based in either Glasgow or Perth, you’ll work as part of our Engineering team, helping to deliver innovative, safe and efficient design solutions that support the construction, maintenance and enhancement of essential networks and infrastructure.

You’ll gain exposure to the full design lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and project handover. Working alongside experienced engineers, project managers, operational teams and clients, you’ll help develop technical designs, produce engineering documentation, and support the delivery of projects that meet technical, regulatory and customer requirements.

As part of the role, you’ll assist with engineering calculations, design drawings, technical reports, site surveys and design reviews. You’ll also work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and aligned with project objectives.

The role will provide opportunities to visit operational and project sites, giving you valuable insight into how engineering designs are translated into real-world construction and infrastructure projects. As your skills and confidence grow, you’ll take on increasing responsibility, develop your technical and stakeholder management capabilities, and become an important contributor to delivering infrastructure that supports communities and critical services across the UK.
