Job summary

Affinity Water is hiring an Associate Data Scientist on an 18-month fixed-term contract to join the Performance & Insights team. You will collect, clean and analyse data, explore trends, and help develop predictive models to support smarter business decisions.

You will work with Python or R and SQL, communicating insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while learning and growing in a real-world business environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related subject.
• Experience using Python or R, including tools such as Pandas and NumPy.
• Knowledge of machine learning and statistical concepts.
• Experience using SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to explain complex data and insights clearly.
• Experience working with datasets through academic projects, internships or previous roles.
• A curious, proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• The ability to work collaboratively and manage changing priorities.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure, or version control tools such as Git - desirable
