Graduate Data Analyst

Role Overview

The Graduate Data Analyst will join an established team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists developing for the OCU Data Platform. They will utilise data transformation and modelling techniques, such as Kimball Data Modelling, to develop Data Products, providing Visualisations and Self-Service Analytical capabilities as well as assisting business users understand key insights that can be derived from these Data Products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Data Analysis and Modelling: Conduct in-depth data analysis and develop data models to support business decisions, focusing on the utilities construction industry and related sectors.
  2. Reporting and Visualisation: Create detailed reports and visualisations, translating complex data models into understandable and actionable insights for various stakeholders.
  3. Data Collection and Processing: Assist in gathering and processing data from multiple sources within the Group, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  4. Industry Awareness: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments, particularly in areas like Utilities 2.0, and apply this understanding to data analysis tasks.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the Group's subsidiaries, understanding their data challenges and providing tailored data modelling solutions.
  6. Off-the-Job Training: Participate in off-the-job training, which includes theoretical and practical learning, such as classroom lessons, online courses, shadowing, mentoring, and industry visits.
  7. Graduate Programme Participation: Actively engage in the Graduate Programme, combining hands-on experience with formal training in line with statutory requirements.
  8. Cross-functional Support: Provide analytical support across various departments, contributing to the entire project lifecycle.
  9. Development Standards: Following established OCU Data Team development standards, ensuring that all completed work is correctly source controlled
