Graduate Civil Engineering Technician

Role Overview
- Provide technical support to projects within the region – during construction and project close‑out phases.
- Support the design, planning and execution of construction projects.
- Prepare technical drawings, designs and plans using AutoCAD.
- Assist in the preparation of design calculations and specifications in line with project requirements.
- Undertake setting out of construction works to ensure accuracy and adherence to project plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Address any design issues identified during the construction phase.
- Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and plan any remedial work.
- Ensure current revisions of drawings are being used on site.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications.
Health, Safety & Environmental
- Ensure construction activities adhere to UK Building Regulations, environmental standards and health and safety requirements.
- Carry out risk assessments.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain relevant permits and ensure project compliance.
- Comply with company procedures and legal obligations.
Technical Support
- Support Civil Engineers in preparing project documentation, including reports, schedules and cost estimates.
- Interpret technical drawings and guide site teams to ensure clarity and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in civil engineering.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of construction methods and processes, and civil engineering principles.
- Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to identify and resolve issues.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with the ability to liaise effectively with both clients and staff.
