Job summary

Saffery, a long‑standing UK chartered accountancy and advisory firm, offers a three‑year ACA training contract designed to develop skills through structured study and on‑the‑job audit learning. Trainees will gain exposure to diverse industries, with exemptions possible for AAT Level 4 and a clear path toward the ACA syllabus.

Qualifications

• Must have a 2:1 undergraduate degree (any discipline).
• Minimum of 120 UCAS points from top 3 A Levels/Highers.
• GCSE maths and English at grade 6/B or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Take candidates through the various stages of an audit from planning to completion.
• Support audit engagements for clients across a range of industries by testing financial information and reviewing key controls.
• Prepare clear, well‑structured audit documentation and working papers.
• Work with client financial data using accounting systems and audit tools.
• Assist with planning and fieldwork, both in the office and on client sites.
• Build strong relationships with clients to gain understanding of their business.
• Identify and investigate differences or inconsistencies in financial information.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high‑quality audit work to deadlines.

Education

2:1 undergraduate degree (any discipline)
