Job description
Graduate Actuarial Analyst Programme

Are you passionate about numbers and innovation? Maybe you’re looking for a new challenge? Brit Insurance wants to hear from you!

We’re a leading commercial insurance and reinsurance company and the 2nd largest syndicate in the historic Lloyd’s of London marketplace – known for insuring the most complex risks in the world.

As part of Brit’s growing Global Specialty Team, the Graduate Actuarial Analyst position will give you the opportunity to develop your technical skills, gain exposure to multiple lines of business, and contribute to a diverse, inclusive team.

What you can expect?

This is not your typical actuarial role. Brit Insurance takes pride in its approach to innovation, encouraging a diverse and agile approach to personal and professional development, communication, and operational excellence.

During this two-year rotational programme, you’ll support reserving, pricing, and business planning activities, rotating between our Actuarial Function and Portfolio Insights teams. You’ll work with colleagues across underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and finance, helping to develop and deliver clear, actionable insights. We provide personalised support to help you find the best team for you and build a long-standing career with Brit.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Support the production of reserving studies and regulatory reporting, preparing clear, insightful materials for stakeholders.
  • Assist in technical pricing, performance monitoring, and segmentation reviews, providing actionable recommendations to the business.
  • Collaborate across underwriting, claims, reinsurance, pricing, and finance teams to gather, validate, and analyse data.
  • Help transform data and processes, improving quality, efficiency, and controls in reserving and pricing workflows.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture, providing and seeking feedback, and helping to streamline processes wherever possible.
What can we offer you?
  • Support to complete the IFoA actuarial qualification with paid study leave.
  • Excellent progression both within and beyond our scheme. We’re a market leader with all the benefits of being a smaller sized company – we value people and behaviours, not numbers.
  • Generous package including a competitive starting salary, bonus opportunities, 9% non-contributory bonus scheme and life, medical & dental insurance.
  • Weekly company socials, ongoing Lloyds events for our underwriters, seasonal parties and Sports Clubs.
  • 2 Volunteer days a year plus company wide charity events and trips.
What do I need?

We’re looking for candidates who have achieved or be on course for a 2:1 in a numerate discipline, keen to pursue the IFoA actuarial qualification and available to start September 2026. You’ll need analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical teams. Coding experience (VBA, SQL, R, Python) is a plus.
