Acoustics & Noise Consultancy

Join a respected, independent acoustics consultancy with a strong national footprint and a reputation for technical quality. With offices in Ipswich, the Midlands, and the North, the company provides comprehensive services in acoustic consultancy, noise assessments, sound insulation testing, and acoustic materials guidance.

You’ll play a key role in delivering projects of all sizes across the UK, from early design and planning through to construction and operation - applying your technical expertise to create effective, client-focused solutions across a variety of sectors.

The Opportunity

As an Acoustic Consultant, you’ll be an essential member of a talented and supportive team, managing your own workload while collaborating with clients and colleagues to develop innovative and practical acoustic solutions. You’ll enjoy a mix of hands‑on fieldwork, technical reporting, and client engagement across diverse and rewarding projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental noise surveys and acoustic assessments in accordance with current standards and best practice
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and detailed noise impact assessments
  • Provide professional acoustic advice and recommendations throughout each project stage
  • Work closely with clients, design teams, and local authorities to deliver effective and compliant solutions
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues, helping to maintain and develop internal best practices
About You
  • Degree‑qualified in Acoustics, Physics, or a related discipline
  • IOA membership (MIOA or working towards)
  • Proven experience in building or environmental acoustics projects
  • Excellent technical writing, analysis, and communication skills
  • Self‑driven, adaptable, and confident working independently or as part of a team
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable
