Do you want to turn your finance degree into a rewarding career in accounting?

We're looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Accounts Assistant to join our Client Accounting Team at our Head Office in Cambridge, supporting our dynamic Investment and Property Management (IPM) department.

Our IPM team of 60 property specialists manages client property portfolios across the UK, and alongside them, our dedicated 15-strong Client Accounting team provides accounting functions for the wider team and their clients.

In this role, you'll handle all aspects of client and property accounting for a small portfolio, from producing statements and month‑end reporting, to reconciling service charges and monitoring budgets. Working closely with Client Accountants, Property Managers and Administrators, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial processes and exceptional client service.

What you'll be doing:
  • Preparing client statements (monthly/quarterly) and completing month‑end reporting (including accruals and prepayments)
  • Transferring funds to client accounts and reconciling service charges across multiple tenants
  • Monitoring service charge budgets and funding whilst reporting budget vs actual
  • Acting as the first point of contact for clients and tenants whilst handling queries from Client Accountants and Property Managers
  • Raising Bidwells fee accounts and overseeing debt chasing for your portfolio
  • Managing VAT/CIS reporting and providing cover for tenant deposit closures
  • Supporting colleagues to prevent backlog and assisting with ad‑hoc tasks
  • Becoming proficient in our integrated property management and accounts system
About You:

Essential

  • A clear understanding of basic accounting principles
  • A finance‑related degree (or similar), preferably 2:1 or above
  • GCSE or equivalent A–C in English and Maths
  • Excellent numeracy skills along with strong Excel skills
  • Clear understanding of the confidentiality involved in dealing with client accounts
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
