Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an AI/compute-oriented GPU Platform Architecture intern for 2025–2026 in the UK. The role focuses on analyzing workloads, proposing GPU features, and using performance models to drive ideas into mature proposals.

You will collaborate with GPU and SoC architects across architecture and performance teams. The internship starts Winter 2025 or Spring/Summer 2026 with multiple UK locations (London/Cambridge/St Albans).

Qualifications

Currently pursuing BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Must return to school after internship or this internship must be final graduation requirement.
Strong object‑oriented programming in C/C++.
Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Perl or Ruby).
Good grasp of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
Curiosity about GPU/CPU/SOC architecture and micro-architecture.
Strong collaboration and data‑driven decision making abilities.

Responsibilities

Analyze performance of existing and future workloads for GPUs.
Propose new features and conduct research to boost GPU performance.
Use performance and energy models to evaluate ideas and iterate toward feasibility.
Collaborate across architecture and performance teams to maintain simulation environments.
