Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking applications for a GPPHC Placement Lead (maternity cover). The post holder will work with Undergraduate Primary Care Education Unit faculty and GP tutors to organise the day‑to‑day running of the fifth year GP placement and shape its future development.

You will lead placement planning and management, and contribute to teaching, assessment, quality improvement and tutor training for MBBS year five.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration required.
• Eligibility for NHS GP appointment.
• Postgraduate qualification in medical education.
• Substantial experience in undergraduate clinical teaching in primary care.
• Experience in managing a teaching programme.
• Evidence of critical reasoning through evaluation or research in medical education.
• Strong understanding of the undergraduate medical education curriculum.
• Understanding of general practice organisation and developments.
• Strong skills in clinical general practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead GP placement planning for year five MBBS placement.
• Coordinate teaching and assessment for the year five GP placement.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and evaluation of the placement.
• Provide GP tutor training and student support for MBBS year five.
