Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum General Practitioners to cover sessions in Stanley, England, with flexible weekday, evening and weekend bookings. You will work in community and primary care settings, delivering autonomous clinics and urgent care as needed.

Candidates must be GMC-registered GPs with NHS Performers List registration, strong diagnostic reasoning and patient communication, and indemnity and Enhanced DBS in place. Flexible arrangements offered.

Qualifications

• Must be GMC-registered as a General Practitioner.
• Registration on the NHS Performers List is required.
• Primary care or community health experience is essential.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work confidently across varied services and settings.
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Run independent GP clinics across community and primary care settings.
• Manage acute, routine and complex presentations.
• Conduct telephone triage to support urgent access demand.
• Prescribe safely within clinical guidelines.
• Complete results, medication reviews and referral actions.
• Maintain detailed and compliant clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with local clinical teams.

Locums First is looking for Locum General Practitioners in Stanley. This role offers access to a variety of community-focused and GP-based clinical sessions, giving you the flexibility to choose work that aligns with your experience, preferred pace and weekly schedule.

You will support a range of primary care services by managing autonomous GP clinics, handling urgent care demand, providing routine appointments and completing essential clinical follow-up work. Each service provides clear guidance, structured processes and a well-managed clinical environment.
