Job summary

Whitemoor Medical Centre in Belper (near Derby) is seeking a General Practitioner to join a supportive, innovative practice with a strong focus on primary care excellence. The post involves 6 sessions per week with morning/afternoon blocks and opportunities for clinical leadership within the team.

You will work with a multidisciplinary group to deliver comprehensive care to a patient population of over 12,500, with access to teaching, research activity, and PCN collaboration to support

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and inclusion on a Medical Performers List.
• CCT in General Practice, MRCGP or equivalent.
• Broad experience in general practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, home visits where required, checking and signing prescriptions, and managing paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
• Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
• Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans in line with current practice disease management protocols.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Refer patients to other care providers as appropriate.
• Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Collect data for audit purposes.
• Prescribe in accordance with local and national guidance.
• Undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Education
