Job summary

A healthcare network in Tendring is seeking a part-time GP assistant to support GPs across various surgeries. The role involves assisting with clinical duties such as blood pressure monitoring and administrative tasks. Ideal candidates will have previous healthcare assistant experience and sufficient qualifications. Flexible scheduling of 15 hours over 2 days is offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy.
  • Able to support the GP with immunisations and wound care.
  • Good skills in IT and using clinical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist GPs in running clinics and perform clinical tasks.

Job description

Ranworth PCN are seeking a GP assistant to work across the surgeries within our PCN on a part-time, permanent basis for 15 hours per week, working across 2 days. The role would suit someone who has previously worked as a healthcare assistant within primary care as there are many clinical duties.

This position within the team is responsible for assisting the GPs in the smooth running of clinics, carrying out clinical and administration tasks.

Main duties of the job
  • Dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs and phlebotomy
  • Supporting the GP with immunisations/wound care
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Assisting the GP to liaise with outside agencies, eg on call doctor
  • Preparing patients prior to going in to see the GP, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP appointment
  • Sorting post
  • Coding clinical letters
