Overview

Governance Support Officer

Location: Ellesmere Port, CH65 0BE

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 2+ months

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Support the effective use of the Unit4 system for Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester councils.
  • Maintain the UNIT4 Microsite and coordinate communications and training for users both online and in-person.
  • Provide guidance on policies and ensure training documents are current.
  • Respond to user queries and escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Act as a contact for system users to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Assist in managing workload peaks and prioritizing key projects.
  • Support service transformation and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide information and support for user groups and forums.
  • Use data to inform on demand and propose innovative solutions.
Must Have
  • Relevant finance or business qualification (e.g., ECDL, AAT, BTEC, NVQ3).
  • Experience in Transactional Finance, Billing and Debt, Recruitment and Pay.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training material.
  • Experience in customer relationship and change management.
  • Ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Commitment to Council values and objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to motivate people.
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of Transactional Finance processes related to Unit4.
  • Experience in producing management information and performance reports.
  • Understanding of business processes and training delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of best practices in Council policies and financial procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of Unit4 ERP system.
