Overview

Are you highly organised, detail‑orientated, and passionate about supporting education? As a Governance Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting school governing boards.

Responsibilities
  • Organising and attending meetings (in‑person and online)
  • Building strong relationships with governors
  • Accurately recording minutes of meetings and maintaining electronic governance records
  • Providing professional advice and guidance

You will be employed by Warwickshire County Council and assigned to specific schools. Day to day accountability is to the governing board. While you will work mainly from home, you will be expected to attend meetings at times convenient to the governing board – usually early evenings. Meetings are usually in person with the occasional meeting taking place virtually at the request of the Chair of Governors. All new team members receive induction training, with ongoing support and development opportunities provided by our dedicated Governor Services Team.

You will be expected to uphold the Nolan Principles and demonstrate respectful challenge and support in your governance role. A DBS check will be required.

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
