Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 Governance Manager in Gynaecology at Watford General Hospital. The role focuses on governance, risk management and quality improvement across a large clinical division, supporting patient safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.

You will work with senior clinical and operational leaders to embed robust governance systems and drive continuous improvement, with a 37.5-hour week and a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. healthcare governance, quality, management, or patient safety)
• Evidence of continuous professional development in governance, patient safety, or risk management
• Formal training in incident investigation methodologies for PSIRF
• Registered healthcare professional

Responsibilities

• Coordinate governance processes across the Division under the Deputy Head of Governance
• Lead governance activities including risk management, incident reporting, patient safety, complaints and clinical audit
• Support PSIRF implementation and lead investigations and learning reviews
• Ensure divisional risks are managed, maintained and escalated as needed
• Produce governance reports, dashboards and assurance information for meetings
• Assist with regulatory compliance (CQC and others) and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities
• Coordinate divisional governance meetings, action plans and work programmes
