The Quality Governance and patient Safety Support is a member of the Quality Governance Team and working collaboratively across disciplines, the post holder will lead on aspects of quality governance including serious incident investigations, as delegated by the Head of Quality Governance & IG, to facilitate learning and improvements in clinical practice and safety to reduce risk.
The role will incorporate the promotion of a positive learning and just culture environment where changes are established and embedded to improve patient safety, experience and outcomes. An open learning culture will be fostered which will ensures that both lessons and action is taken, and appropriate action is taken in response to mistakes and service failures as well as learning from excellent practice and contributing to the dissemination of this.
The post holder will be supportive and innovate in their support to the Quality Governance & IG & Quality Governance Advisor to ensure that all areas of quality governance including clinical incidents, complaints, serious clinical Incidents are addressed and actioned.

NEMS currently operates 3 main services: (1) Integrated Urgent Care across Nottinghamshire serving a patient population of over 1 million, including home visiting, remote consultation and clinical assessment services; (2) Urgent Primary care provision located within the A&E Department at QMC, (3) A 24-hour walk-in urgent primary care service adjacent to Kings Mill Hospital A&E, Mansfield.
