Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking an organised Goods In / Stores Person for a busy manufacturing site in Cambridge. You will receive and check deliveries, maintain stock records and ensure components are available for production.

The role requires 1–2 years in a stores or warehouse role, and ideally experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment with basic ERP/MRP skills. It involves physically handling stock in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role
• Ideally experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills and experience using an ERP/MRP system
• Good attention to detail, particularly when checking part numbers and quantities

Responsibilities

• Receive and check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
• Inspect incoming components for damage and obvious quality issues
• Check sheet metal and precision-machined parts against drawings
• Accurately record goods received using an ERP/MRP system
• Kit and issue materials for production and project builds
• Maintain an organised stores, warehouse and WIP areas
• Carry out stock checks and investigate inventory discrepancies
• Monitor stock levels and highlight potential shortages
• Process returned and rejected materials in conjunction with Production and Quality
• Safely handle materials using pallet trucks, trolleys and other equipment
