Job summary

Dechra, a global veterinary pharma company, invites applications for a Packer on a late shift in Skipton. The role involves packing to GMP standards, handling equipment, and maintaining safety and housekeeping in a busy packing department. Training, cross‑department collaboration, and adherence to SOPs are essential.

The job requires knowledge of health and safety, time management, and clear communication. DBS checks are required; the role supports development within a regulated GMP environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety compliance within manufacturing.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
• Ability to communicate with peers and other departments.
• Experience in a low to medium manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrable ability in similar batch manufacturing.
• RCA experience is beneficial.
• Pharma environment desirable but not required.
• Understanding of QMS processes (CAPA, CC, NCR) is useful.

Responsibilities

• Pack products to the highest quality standard in line with GMP and SOPs.
• Follow packing batch documents and SOPs; comply with GMP responsibilities.
• Attend in-house training and on-the-job training.
• Ensure efficient and safe use of machinery and equipment.
• Adhere to packing methods and report issues to Line Lead or Shift Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and equipment in good order; report deficiencies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and personal hygiene in the department.
• Notify management immediately if serious safety or GMP issues arise.
• Fulfil other reasonable requests from senior staff, once trained.
