Overview

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a role in the Greater Manchester Liaison and Diversion Service. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting people in custody suites across Greater Manchester. Full induction, bespoke training, structured supervision, and opportunities for professional development will be provided.

Work Schedule

Rota between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, seven days a week. The role is based in one of the eight Greater Manchester Police Custody Suites and requires access to police systems and buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Work with police and other agencies to identify people with health, diversity, difficulties, disabilities and social circumstances vulnerabilities.
  • Establish consent and spend time with individuals to gain insight into their circumstances.
  • Support children, young people, adults and older adults throughout the custody process and environment.
  • Foster hope and belief that personal well‑being and security is a reasonable expectation.
  • Agree and develop a “my plan” with individuals that acknowledges their choice, strengths and assets.
  • Signpost, refer people to and liaise with agencies best positioned to provide support.
  • Provide quality and appropriate information to colleagues working in the custody environment and the wider system.
Requirements

  • Ability to work on a rota covering shift work (7 am–7 pm, 7 days a week).
  • Access to police systems and buildings, enhanced DBS and Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV). Applicants must provide information on family, finances, a minimum of three years residence in the UK.
  • Experience in delivering high‑quality health and social care and support.
