Job summary

Moody's is seeking a Sr Business Systems Analyst (Vertex) to lead global tax technology, driving Vertex O Series integration with SAP S/4 HANA and supporting multi‑jurisdiction tax requirements across regions. You will own end‑to‑end tax processes, data integrity, and compliance, coordinating with Tax, Finance, IT, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on Vertex O Series 9.0 implementation and support experience.
• Experience with SAP integrations with Vertex and tax mappings.
• Experience supporting global tax implementations across US, Canada, EMEA, APAC, LATAM, Brazil, and India.
• Functional understanding of Sales and Use Tax, VAT/GST, tax exemptions, multi‑jurisdiction determination, and global tax matrices.
• Experience with SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, e‑invoicing, and Continuous Transaction Controls.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Global Tax lead and single point of accountability for global tax technology.
• Facilitate the implementation, support, and hands‑on configuration of Vertex O Series integration with SAP S/4 HANA.
• Design and support tax integration across end‑to‑end business cycles including Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, Record‑to‑Report, intercompany, and GL postings.
• Support global indirect tax requirements including US Sales and Use Tax, EU VAT, APAC GST, and regional models.
• Configure and maintain Vertex tax mappings; administer exemption and tax certificates; manage jurisdiction setup.
• Support Vertex upgrades including validation, regression testing, and post‑production support.
• Own reconciliation of Vertex tax results to SAP GL and assist audits.
• Uphold SOX and change governance controls; document tests and manage releases.
• Train and mentor staff; drive automation and AI‑enabled tax capabilities.
