Job summary

Freshfields in Manchester is seeking a proactive Tax Assistant to support the Tax Manager and help ensure UK and international tax compliance. You will assist with the preparation and filing of UK corporate and partnership tax returns, and help maintain governance standards across the tax function.

You will also handle US filings for non-resident partners, respond to tax-related queries, and contribute to audits and surveys while keeping tax documentation well organised across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting corporate and partnership tax filings is a plus.
• Familiarity with UK tax rules and governance standards preferred.
• Strong numeracy and data management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation and filing of UK corporate and partnership tax returns.
• Manage US tax filings for non-resident partners and ensure compliance with sourcing rules.
• Handle partner tax data for annual reporting and respond to tax queries.
