Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer intern to create technology that solves customer problems at global scale. You will own code from design through deployment, with support from experienced engineers, a manager and a mentor.

Role includes working with cross-disciplinary teams, breaking down problems, building scalable services, and participating in code reviews and CI/CD processes. Office-based internship in Greater London, up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related subject.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, operating systems and complexity analysis.
• Experience with languages such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build and operate customer-focused products and services.
• Break complex problems into clearly defined technical components.
• Develop scalable, reliable services and contribute to distributed systems where relevant.
• Take part in code reviews, technical discussions and documentation.
• Write maintainable code, apply recognised design patterns and work within CI/CD practices.
• Monitor services, troubleshoot production issues and contribute to operational support.
