Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is offering a 12-month Global Procurement Industrial Placement in Peterborough. You will gain exposure to facility and product procurement, supplier management, and cost analytics while working with a global procurement team.

You’ll receive structured training, mentoring, and real responsibilities on live projects. The programme targets penultimate-year students from diverse backgrounds with strong analytical and communication skills and a 2:2 or higher in relevant fields.

We currently have some exciting opportunities for industrial placement students to join Caterpillar. We are looking for talented, ambitious people from various backgrounds who are interested in setting out on the road to success and in return, we will provide you the training, mentoring, and support you need to have a successful placement year.

*Please note that to be eligible to complete a 12-Month Industrial Placement commencing July 2027, you must be in your penultimate year of study unless enrolled in an integrated master's program.*

You will be given the opportunity to experience different aspects of Procurement, designed to provide you with an excellent foundation in the function.

You will face a wide variety of challenges and have responsibility for either NPI (New Product Introduction) programs or managing supplier accounts as you will work closely with the extended global procurement teams, engage and visit global suppliers and directly contribute to Caterpillar's success.

Step 4: Offer

Following the Assessment Centre, the Caterpillar team will review all feedback and make hiring decisions. We aim to communicate outcomes and extend offers to successful candidates as quickly as possible.

Placement students will begin their placement on 5th July 2027.
