Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking a hands-on Privacy Legal Counsel to shape and scale our global privacy strategy across AI products, research, partnerships, and internal operations. You will work directly with researchers, engineers, and product managers to build privacy-first solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of experience in privacy law, ideally in-house or tech, with strong GDPR knowledge and the ability to translate legal requirements into actionable product

Qualifications

• Master degree in law; bar admission a plus.
• 5–8 years in law firm or tech company; IT/privacy law.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and privacy regulation.
• AI knowledge and data protection concepts.
• Excellent communication and project management.

Responsibilities

• Champion privacy-by-design for AI products.
• Develop scalable privacy operations and DPIAs.
• Support cross-functional teams with practical guidance.
• Lead data transfer and vendor management discussions.
