Job summary

Diageo in the United Kingdom seeks a senior packaging regulatory expert to provide hands-on regulatory expertise, risk assessments and guidance across global packaging legislation.

You will own day-to-day regulatory activities, lead major programmes such as PPWR, and develop Declarations of Conformity with supplier declarations and test reports. Collaboration with Sustainability, Procurement and technical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant regulatory experience in packaging legislation, ideally in food or consumer goods.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on regulatory expertise, guidance and risk assessments on global packaging legislation.
• Own and deliver day-to-day packaging regulatory activities and lead strategic regulatory programmes.
• Prepare, review and maintain Declarations of Conformity (DoCs) and supporting compliance documents.
• Lead regulatory implementation of PPWR and other packaging regulations.
• Interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate into practical technical actions for the business.
• Establish and improve global processes for packaging compliance across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Packaging Sustainability, Procurement and other technical teams.
• Provide regulatory input into packaging development from concept to implementation.
• Draft, review and maintain packaging DoCs with supplier declarations and test reports.
• Review supplier regulatory documentation and perform regulatory assessments of materials.
• Lead regulatory activities related to PPWR, including restricted substances and labelling.
• Provide hands-on regulatory review for packaging projects and document decisions.
• Develop and maintain regulatory standards, procedures and templates.
• Support testing strategies when regulatory evidence is required.
• Maintain regulatory records and evidence for audits and customer requests.
• Provide training to build packaging regulatory capability across teams.
• Support digitalisation of regulatory processes while maintaining controls.
• Represent Packaging Regulatory in cross-functional projects and governance forums.
