Legal & General seeks a skilled data engineer to partner with global markets, build scalable data pipelines, and support quantitative research. You will work across regions, ensuring data quality and accessible analytics for non-technical stakeholders.

Candidates should have strong Python and SQL skills, cloud experience, and an ability to translate complex outputs into clear insights. This is an on-site role in Greater London with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Strong Python experience with Pandas/NumPy.
• Advanced SQL and relational databases.
• Experience building data pipelines on cloud platforms and API integration.
• Solid understanding of data engineering and scalable architecture.
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
• Nice to have: financial services or trading exposure; Tableau; ML.

Responsibilities

• Partner with traders and global markets teams to understand data needs and deliver practical solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, datasets, and analytical tools.
• Support quantitative research initiatives, including analytical models.
• Identify gaps in data infrastructure and drive improvements to reliability and scalability.
• Act as the first point of contact for data and analytics issues, diagnosing and resolving problems.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to support workflows across multiple regions.
• Enhance data quality, governance, and accessibility across platforms.
• Translate complex technical outputs into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
