Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Manager in Corporate Transaction Tax to lead complex engagements across UK and cross-border deals. You will advise clients on tax structuring and due diligence, oversee multi‑engagement workstreams, and mentor junior staff within a high‑performing team.

You will collaborate with EY teams globally, support business development, and apply strong UK tax expertise to deliver practical tax solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• ACA/legal qualification or tax qualification (or equivalent breadth of knowledge and experience).
• Significant prior experience in transaction tax, including leading tax structuring and/or tax due diligence engagements.
• Deep UK corporate tax expertise, with the ability to apply technical knowledge pragmatically and commercially in a fast-paced transaction environment.
• Strong track record of managing complex projects and client relationships.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
• Ability to operate in a dynamic deal environment, managing risk and competing priorities.
• Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking, with focus on client priorities during transactions.
• Proven ability to lead teams and take ownership of delivery in high-pressure deal situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; producing clear, concise client deliverables.
• Confidence in building client relationships and contributing to business development and practice growth.
• Collaborative, inclusive leadership style with a passion for developing people.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver technically complex transaction tax engagements for UK and international deals.
• Act as day-to-day senior client contact, building trusted relationships with clients and advisers.
• Oversee multiple engagements, manage scope, resourcing, budgets, and risk.
• Support business development and growth of key client accounts.
• Coach and develop Managers and junior team members to foster a high-performing culture.
• Contribute to development of the Corporate Transaction Tax practice through thought leadership and process improvements.
• Leverage AI and technology to enhance analysis and delivery of tax advice.
