Job summary

Alfred H Knight in Liverpool seeks a Senior Technical Specialist to provide hands-on technical support across its international laboratory network. The role involves travel to regional labs and client sites to investigate issues and implement new methods and technologies.

You will work with laboratory teams to improve capability, efficiency and service delivery while ensuring client requirements are met, reporting to Senior Laboratory Management.

Qualifications

• Education: a BSc/Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or related discipline is highly preferred.
• Substantial verified industry experience in a laboratory environment may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• Recognised internal auditor training for ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 is desirable; may be completed within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for laboratory operations across the global network.
• Serve as a specialist technical advisor to the Laboratory Senior Leadership Team.
• Develop project targets, establish KPIs, and use technical reports for data-driven recommendations.
• Verify testing systems and protocols maintain high-quality analytical standards.
• Ensure analytical methods meet accuracy standards and verify staff proficiency.
• Maintain knowledge of ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 compliance.
