Job summary

Starr Insurance Companies is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its UK and Europe insurance operations, reporting to the regional Head of Legal. The role involves handling regulatory and commercial matters across Lloyd’s and Company markets, with exposure to governance and product development.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, advise on coverage issues, and collaborate with the broader Starr Group legal team across international locations.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for insurance products and services.
• Understanding of insurance regulatory matters and cross-border issues.
• Ability to advise business teams on regulatory developments and risk
• Experience working with Lloyd’s could be beneficial but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for Starr’s insurance activities in the region, independently and with the Legal Team.
• Identify, research and analyse legal issues; draft documents and present recommendations to business colleagues.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, broker agreements, outsourcing, confidentiality, and standard-form agreements.
• Advise Underwriting on coverage issues and contribute to policy language and product development.
