Job summary

Global Payments Uk Ltd is seeking an experienced Employment / Litigation professional to join our in-house Legal team in Manchester. You will manage and support disputes, liaise with external counsel, and help shape our UK and Ireland dispute resolution approaches.

You will work across EMEA and APAC, develop templates and playbooks, and support HR and risk teams on day-to-day employment matters and investigations. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience in employment, litigation, or commercial law.
• Prior in-house experience preferred or strong exposure to corporate clients in private practice.
• Solid understanding of employment law principles and dispute resolution processes.
• Experience supporting litigation or investigations with external counsel.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercially minded with a proactive and collaborative approach.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
• Relational skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support management and investigation of employment and commercial disputes.
• Liaise with external counsel and assist with legal spend tracking across EMEA and APAC (UK & Ireland focus).
• Assist responses to third-party disclosure requests and freezing orders.
• Support internal complaints teams on customer disputes and complaints handling.
• Develop and maintain litigation reporting frameworks tracking risks and outcomes.
• Support internal and external audit processes, including document collection, review and organisation.
• Assist in developing templates, playbooks, and guidance materials for dispute management.
• Maintain employment templates, including contracts and HR policies across EMEA.
• Support HR on day-to-day employment matters including grievances and investigations.
• Assist with case management activities including matter files, deadlines, budgets, and timetables.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance and operations to identify issues early and support effective dispute resolution strategies.
