Job summary

UCL Centre for Clinical Microbiology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Infectious Disease/Global Health to support research and training across PRESERVE and SPHERE-AFRICA. The role involves contributing to infectious disease research, building laboratory and surveillance capacity, and engaging in international collaborations with Africa and Europe.

Opportunities for international travel are included.

Qualifications

• PhD in microbiology, virology, immunology or a related discipline.
• Experience conducting infectious disease research and global health work.
• Strong bioinformatics expertise with sequencing data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with international partners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct infectious disease research and contribute to PRESERVE and SPHERE-AFRICA networks.
• Provide training, supervision of students, and capacity-building activities.
• Support laboratory operations and surveillance capacity development.
• Collaborate with partners across Africa and Europe; travel as needed.
