You'll build your foundational knowledge, professional skills and experiences in one of the following Finance teams:
Finance Teams
- Product Control – ensures the overall integrity and validity of the risk associated to daily/weekly/monthly P&L and Balance Sheet, providing crucial support to the trading desk, Financial Control, Market Risk and other functions.
- Legal Entity Control – provides financial oversight of the legal entity, ensuring a strong control environment related to financials and regulatory reporting.
- Financial Control – ensures overall integrity and validity of the general ledger and controls over the transaction cycle; performs critical reporting and controls functions.
- Planning & Analysis – creates meaningful analysis and reporting in support of our businesses; coordinates with partners across the firm for financial and strategic analysis, and financial planning and forecasting.
- Regulatory Reporting & Capital Policy – prepares and submits regulatory reports, monitors capital requirements, applies rules and policies, and provides guidance to businesses.
- Program Management – contributes to large‑scale initiatives that drive cross‑line or firm‑wide agendas implementing new regulations, standards or policies.
- Business Management – trusted advisor to business heads by identifying, escalating and mitigating business risks, optimizing performance and leading key initiatives.
Career Progression
- Top‑performing apprentices may be promoted to analyst level at the end of the 2‑year Program.
- High‑performing apprentices may join the Global Finance and Business Management Graduate Program, which offers three one‑year rotations and supports completion of the CIMA qualification; top performers may be promoted to Associate level.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply accounting principles and adhere to legislation to ensure records are accurate and compliant with law or company policy when delivering accounting activities.
- Apply professional scepticism when undertaking accounting activities to inform and evaluate decision making on the content of true and fair accounts, being alert to possible misstatement and aware of unconscious bias.
- Interpret financial information for accounting purposes, using judgement to determine correct reporting or accounting for transactions and undertaking ratio analysis.
- Participate in or support others with quality improvement activities.
- Use software packages to assist with accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, including backing up data.
- Deliver accounting tasks with a critical eye to transactions and trends, demonstrating a 'right first time' approach.
- Use workload management principles to plan, organise, prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Use accounting information to add value through data visualisations, analysis and interpretation, and communicate financial information to facilitate understanding for non‑finance stakeholders.
- Communicate accounting information through various media to enable key stakeholders to understand what is required, considering risks and benefits of digital applications.
- Build and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, recognising equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Collate and analyse financial information and show how it can be used to support value creation within an organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Working towards a Level 4 Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician apprenticeship standard, delivered by BPP.
- Students in their last year at school or college, looking to build a career in Finance and Business Management while undertaking a Level 4 AAT qualification.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs including English (grade C/4 or equivalent) and Maths (grade B/6 or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 A‑levels (grade A‑B or 128 UCAS points) or equivalent.
- Share any other relevant qualifications and industry experience.
