TheGlobalEquityCompensationteamworkswithseveralinternalfunctionsandexternaladvisorstoupholdhightaxandlegalcompliancestandardsinallimpactedcountries.Otherresponsibilitiesincludedesigningandimplementingcompetitiveequitycompensationpolicies,buildingandmaintainingrobustgovernanceframeworksandinternalcontrols,andpreparinganddeliveringcommunicationsandtrainingforglobalandsenioraudiences.Inaddition,theteampartnerswithinternalcolleaguesandexternaladvisorstoensuretheflawlessdeliveryofeachequitycompensationeventusingneworexistingtools,templates,procedures,andtechnologysolutions.
RoleOverview
ThesuccessfulcandidatewillreporttotheheadofglobalequitycompensationinSwitzerlandandsupporttheglobalequitycompensationmanagerintheUKwithalltaxmattersrelatedtoequityplans.Wewillconsidercandidateswithsubstantialexperiencein equitycompensationtaxcomplianceobligationsglobally,includingwithholdingtaxandsocialsecurityrequirements,expatriatetax,knowledgeofcapitalgainsanddividendstax,andadeepunderstandingoftaxequalizationandtaxprotectionpolicies.TheselectedcandidatewilljointheGlobalEquityCompensationteam,comprisingsixmembers,andbepartofHitachi’sGlobalTotalRewards(GTR)functionthatincludesapproximately30people.
Workwillinclude,butisnotlimitedto,identifyingandestablishingthetaxcomplianceframeworkandoperationalrequirementsforseveralequitycompensationworkstreams,suchasglobalmobilitypolicydesign,communicationmaterials,anddomesticandexpatriatetaxationmatters.Theincumbentmayalsosupportthewiderglobalmobilitytransformationprojectimpactingallgroupcompanies.

Theidealcandidatewillpossessthefollowingskillsandbackground :
Candidatesmusthaveeightormoreyearsofexperiencewiththetaxationofequitycompensationplansinlargeandcomplexcompanies,andwithaglobalgeographicalscope.
Strongknowledgeofequitycompensationpolicies.
Deepknowledgeofthewithholdingtaxprocessfordomesticemployeesandglobalmovers,includingincomesourcing,foreigntaxcredits,doubletaxationmatters,andtaxtreatmentpolicies.
KnowledgeoftaxcomplianceandaccountingunderIFRS.
Strongexperienceinworkingwithpayrolls,HRoperations,andfinancemattersrelatedtoequityplans.
Previousexperienceinmanagingequitycompensationtaxmattersgloballyishighlydesirable.
In-houseexperiencewithequitycompensationplansispreferred.
Arelevantprofessionalqualificationwouldbeanadvantage(CTA,ACA,ICAS,ACCA).
Candidatesmustbewillingtoworkonadministrativetasksandregularlyliaisewithseveralstakeholdersfromdifferentgroupcompaniestoensurethetimelyimplementationofvariousequitycompensationprocessesandcontrolsteps.
Willingtoworkflexiblytomeettightdeadlinesandattendcallsduringflexiblehoursacrossdifferenttimezones.TraveltoJapanmayberequiredoccasionally.
