RoleOverview

ThesuccessfulcandidatewillreporttotheheadofglobalequitycompensationinSwitzerlandandsupporttheglobalequitycompensationmanagerintheUKwithalltaxmattersrelatedtoequityplans.Wewillconsidercandidateswithsubstantialexperiencein equitycompensationtaxcomplianceobligationsglobally,includingwithholdingtaxandsocialsecurityrequirements,expatriatetax,knowledgeofcapitalgainsanddividendstax,andadeepunderstandingoftaxequalizationandtaxprotectionpolicies.TheselectedcandidatewilljointheGlobalEquityCompensationteam,comprisingsixmembers,andbepartofHitachi’sGlobalTotalRewards(GTR)functionthatincludesapproximately30people.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Managetaxcompliancemattersfordomesticemployeesandinternationalglobalmovers(assignees,permanenttransfers,businesstravelers,andprojectworkers)acrossallcompaniesoftheHitachiGroupthatwilloperateequityincentives,especiallyfortherestrictedstockunitsplan(RSU).
  • Upholdstrongcompliance,governance,andinternalcontrolstandards.
  • Developandupdatetaxpoliciesandprocedurestomeettaxcomplianceobligationsglobally.
  • Establishandmaintainthetaxpositionpaper,identify,andmaintainthecorrectwithholdingtaxandsocialsecuritypositionsfordomesticemployeesandglobalmovers.
  • Workwithexternaltaxadvisorstoidentifyandmanagewithholdingtaxrequirementchanges.
  • Actasadvisorandsubjectmatterexpertforequitycompensationincometax,socialsecurity,andfinanceandaccountingmatters.
  • Improvesystemfunctionalitiesandinterfacestomitigatetaxcomplianceriskexposure.
  • Createanddelivertaxtrainingandtax-relatedcommunicationstoequityplanparticipants.
  • Workwithtaxadvisors,HROperationsandpayrollsgloballytoprepareforanddelivertheannualsharefilingsinallimpactedcountries,including,butnotlimitedto,theUKsharefillings,Australiaannualsharefilings,ChinaSAFE(includingtheplansregistrationwhereapplicable).
  • WorkwiththeglobalequitycompensationmanagerandexternaltaxadvisorstomanagetheRSUgrantandvestingprocess,includingmonthlyleaversandtheregulargrantandvestingcycles.
  • Workwithtaxadvisors,globalmobility,andpayrolltoprepareforanddelivertheRSUvestingcycleandtaxreturnseasonforglobalmovers.
  • OverseethepayrolltaxfundingprocesswiththeglobalequitycompensationmanagerinJapan.
  • Preparetaxpositionsimulationsandtaxcostprojectionsforinternationalassigneesandpermanenttransfersaccordingtobusinessdemands.
  • SupportcorporationtaxreviewsandrechargeagreementswithJapanTaxandFinance.
  • Respondtointernalandexternaltaxauditsuponrequest.
  • Correspondwiththelocaltaxauthoritiesinvariouscountriestoclarifytechnicaltaxmattersifrequired.
  • Manageemergingtaxtechnicaltopicswithinternalandexternalstakeholders,includingtheimplementationofcountry-specificequityplanswithtaxadvantagesifapplicable.
  • Definethescopeandtimelinestodeliversignificantprojects.
  • Managetherelationshipwithexternaltaxadvisorsandgroupcompanypayrolls.
  • Comprehensiveknowledgeofshareplanpoliciesandpractices.
