Global Director of Planning - Shipping - Netherlands

Position Type: Full-time

My client is a major player in the shipping industry. They are seeking a new Global Director of Planning to join their team, based in the Netherlands. The previous incumbent has now moved into a Global Head of Finance position. The client is offering a very generous compensation package, and the company can offer extensive career progression in the long term.

Your role will include:

• Taking over a team of subordinates
• Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, who in turn reports to the Global CFO
• Lead the activities of business planning and performance
• Analysing financial figures for the combined activities of the group, and presenting on a monthly and quarterly basis to top management
• Preparation and presentation of material contributing to the decision making over ongoing investments and acquisitions (on a global scale)
• The occasional travel excursion (around 10-20%)

The right candidate:

• 10+ years experience in Finance and Business
• Very analytical
• Proven experience of liaising and presenting to stakeholders and top management within global businesses
• Multicultural; the company has operations across multiple continents; the right candidate should have experience with interacting with different cultures and obtaining results
• Outstanding business acumen – you should not only a strong financial background, but also have had exposure to commercial roles within business
• Experience in the shipping industry highly preferable
