Job summary

Belcan is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a 6 Month Contract, based in Bristol with hybrid working arrangements. The role involves overseeing and renewing elements of operational programmes, coordinating complex activities, and supporting live weapon firing exercises across the UK and overseas.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing complex operations and programmes.
• Strong background in logistics, freight, cargo management, or operational coordination.
• Experience delivering activities across multiple locations and challenging environments.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within government, defence, military, engineering, or similarly complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee operational plans and project activities.
• Coordinate complex logistics and support arrangements for UK and international deployments.
• Ensure equipment, cargo and freight requirements are delivered to operational locations.
• Support operational activities associated with live weapon firing exercises.
• Coordinate specialist training and support requirements where necessary.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of operational objectives.
• Attend workshops and meetings at other locations when required.
• Provide operational support across wider programmes during quieter periods.
