Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and implement control solutions for world-class automated material handling systems. You will develop PLC software and visualization solutions, emulating controls in a virtual environment and testing thoroughly from design to commissioning.

The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens S7 or TIA Portal, strong knowledge of industrial networks, and the ability to work across multi-site projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering desired; HNC/HND considered
• Experience designing controls systems in Siemens S7 or TIA Portal
• Extensive hands-on experience in industrial automation
• Good understanding of PLC development tools
• Proficient with Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar
• Familiarity with CE Machinery Directive and electrical drawings

Responsibilities

• Deliver project scope while meeting safety, quality, schedule and budget requirements
• Produce PLC software and visualization systems
• Emulate control systems in a virtual environment and test PLC software
• Interpret electrical schematics and input information
• Design and implement controls engineering activities for projects
• Ensure CE compliance to Machinery Directive across systems
• Produce documentation including calculations, specs, method statements, risk assessments and manuals
• Commission controls systems on site and support end-user training
• Maintain relationships with customers and drive continuous improvement
