Moorfields Eye Hospital invites applications for the post of Glaucoma Surgical Trials Fellow based at Moorfields Eye Hospital at City Road The post is to begin as soon as possible on a full-time basis, and we are seeking a candidate who wishes to improve their knowledge and skills in glaucoma management and wishes to play an integral role in glaucoma surgical trials research. Applicants should have completed or be close to completing their ophthalmology training program and preference will be given to candidates with prior glaucoma fellowship experience. A track record in clinical glaucoma research is desirable. Candidates who do not have appropriate surgical experience will not be offered surgical training in this post. Candidates from overseas will be considered but appointment will be subject to national recruitment regulations. The post will commence as soon as possible, for a fixed-term period of 1 year possible extension to 2 years based on satisfactory performance review. The successful candidate will need to arrange the necessary approvals prior to taking up the post.
This role will primarily involve working on a randomised controlled trial comparing tube positioned in the anterior chamber compared to the sulcus, as well as future surgical trials currently in setup. The job will include sessions in glaucoma clinics to help trial recruitment and surgical training depending on prior experience.
