Glass Technologist – Ormskirk – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + excellent company benefits

In this role, you will focus on the flat glass forming and annealing processes while supporting wider innovation in decarbonisation, process improvements, and new product development. You will combine hands‑on site work with analytical and theoretical project involvement, collaborating closely with teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Sustainability. The work is varied, fast‑paced, and at the forefront of technological progress in the industry.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, technically minded individual who thrives in problem‑solving environments and enjoys applying science or engineering expertise to real‑world challenges. You will be adaptable, eager to learn, and ready to travel at short notice to support global operations when needed.

Role:
  • Develop and support flat glass forming and annealing technologies.
  • Contribute to wider initiatives in decarbonisation, manufacturing efficiency, and product innovation.
  • Provide technical support for production challenges and capital engineering projects (e.g. plant start‑ups).
  • Work collaboratively across multiple internal teams and international sites.
  • Potential to travel overseas at short notice.
Person:
  • Degree qualified in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong practical and theoretical understanding of forming and annealing processes.
  • Excellent organisational, IT, and presentation skills.
  • Confident communicator with strong problem‑solving and influencing skills.
  • Project management experience advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel (UK and international).
