Job summary

Barclays is offering a Summer Intern position in Glasgow for penultimate-year students graduating in 2028. You’ll join a one-year expert programme, gaining hands-on experience by designing, building, testing and maintaining software across Barclays’ platforms.

You will work with Java, C++, C#, Python, SQL and JavaScript/TypeScript, with exposure to containers, DevOps, cloud and machine learning, while receiving support and undertaking meaningful responsibilities during a 10-week placement.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year university student.
• Graduating in 2028.
• Exposure to software development through real projects during a 10‑week internship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software across systems used by Barclays.
• Work with engineers, product managers and designers to define requirements.
• Promote code quality through reviews and secure coding practices.
• Implement unit testing to ensure reliability of software.
