Job summary

Thales is seeking a hands-on MIV Technician for our Glasgow site to join a highly skilled manufacturing environment. You will assemble and test electrical, mechanical and optical components, follow data packs and test specs, and participate in fault finding and diagnostics to ensure top quality.

Contribute to continuous improvement, maintain build records and work with manufacturing engineers, quality teams and other specialists to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial environment.
  • Hands-on assembly and testing experience.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, electronic or optical assemblies is valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test complex electrical, mechanical and optical components.
  • Work from manufacturing data packs, technical instructions and test specifications.
  • Carry out product testing and self-assessment to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Support fault finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic systems and sub-assemblies, where required.
  • Support the alignment and testing of opto-mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate product build and configuration records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, Quality and other technical teams.
