Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is recruiting a Cleaner to join the school's cleaning team in Wrexham. The position is permanent and starts in January 2026. It requires 8.75 hours per week, typically 3:30pm to 5:15pm, Monday to Friday during the 39-week school terms.

Welsh language skills are not essential. The role involves cleaning classrooms, toilets, corridors and offices, working under the Headteacher/Caretaker, and adhering to the Council's health and safety rules while using cleaning

Job description

The school is looking to appoint a cleaner to work as part of the school's cleaning team. The position is to start in January 2026. This is a permanent position, and it is expected that you work every day during the school term. Welsh is not compulsory for this role. 8.75 hours per week, 3.30pm to 5.15pm, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year., The range of work carried out by the cleaning staff covers the cleaning of all rooms, toilets, corridors, offices and other such areas that are in use at the direction of the Caretaker. You will be expected to:

• Carry out work to the required standard as directed by the Headteacher/Caretaker
• Work cooperatively with the other cleaners and school staff
• Comply with the Council's health and safety practices
• Use cleaning equipment and materials in the prescribed manner, ensuring safe usage and storage
• Carry out any other reasonable work as directed by the Headteacher/Caretaker

The successful candidate will be expected to work every day during the school term, on training days, and for one week during the summer holidays. Welsh language skills are not essential for this role.
