Job summary

Statkraft in the UK is seeking a GIS Manager to lead the UK GIS team and deliver hands-on GIS projects in a hybrid role based in London or Glasgow. You will establish governance, standards, and best practices, manage procurement and supplier relationships, and collaborate with global GIS users.

The role involves travel and developing capabilities across asset management, projects, and operations, with opportunities to influence renewable energy delivery.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field or GIS Diploma.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise/Online, geodatabases and FME or Python.
  • Ability to adapt to new software and systems.
  • Ability to manage a large workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven leadership experience or evident aptitude for leading teams.
  • Desirable: experience creating Registers of Scotland or HM Land Registry compliant plans.

  • Undertaking site visits, attending industry events, and maintaining professional development.
  • Supporting wider business initiatives and occasional UK/international travel.

Job Description

The GIS Manager role is hybrid, combining leadership and governance responsibilities with hands-on GIS delivery and technical contributions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing the UK GIS team
  • Managing reporting, procurement, and supplier relationships
  • Implementing and maintaining GIS governance, standards, and best practices in line with central IT direction
  • Ensuring compliance with GIS policies, data management procedures, and approved tools across UK projects
  • Supporting and promoting the effective use of GIS solutions across the business
  • Providing GIS expertise to development, project delivery, asset management, and operations teams
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and the global GIS community
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of GIS capabilities and ways of working
  • Undertaking site visits, attending industry events, and maintaining professional development
  • Supporting wider business initiatives and strategic projects as required
  • Undertaking occasional UK and international travel
Qualifications
  • University degree in a relevant field, or GIS Diploma with experience in a similar field, creating maps and visual data for projects
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of GIS software and platforms, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and/or ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, and FME and/or Python
  • Ability to adapt to other new software and systems
  • Ability to manage a large workload in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and work across different project teams
  • Experience in a leadership role, or a clear aptitude for leadership
  • Experience creating Registers of Scotland or HM Land Registry compliant plans (desirable)
