Job summary

Scope is seeking a hands-on Product Owner to work on-site with inspectors in the UK, redesigning the mobile app for rugged, signal-poor environments. You’ll design and ship features that capture voice notes, photos, and videos and turn them into reliable reports.

You’ll also shape AI integration, storage, and offline/online data flows, ensuring the product remains simple yet powerful as it grows. A strong track record mobile apps and practical engineering judgment is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building real applications, preferably mobile (Expo/React Native).
• Experience handling offline and flaky network conditions in real-world apps.
• Interest in AI engineering problems and turning messy data into reliable outputs.

Responsibilities

• Redesign the mobile app for inspectors, enabling gloves-on use with no signal and one-hand operation.
• Build systems to ingest voice notes, photos and videos and auto-finish reports.
• Engineer how we feed context to AI models, including storage, fetch, and selection of standards and media.
• Evolve the workflow builder linking tools like Retool/ Webflow/ n8n to inspections.
• Design the product architecture to support offline/online consistency and scalable data flows.

You’ll go on site with inspectors, decide what matters, design it, ship it, and see whether it worked.The hard, interesting problems in AI. Field data is messy: voice notes, photos, video, half-finished sentences recorded in a chemical plant with no signal. Turning that into a report an expert will sign is a context-engineering problem nobody has solved well yet.A small team that ships fast . We ship to production every day and put changes in front of inspectors within days, not quarters. Ideas go from a site visit to a live feature in a single sprint. You’re a little bit sad that AI tooling creates more distance between you and the code, and you still like knowing how things work underneath.You’re a manager of one. We believe great teams are made up of highly agentic people who care more about shipping results than collecting badges.You’ve got the scar tissue. You have 5+ years of experience and know which technical decisions matter, and which ones don’t.You’ve shipped real applications. Ideally mobile, ideally with Expo or React Native. You care about the details that break in the real world: offline, flaky networks, error states.You’re curious about AI as an engineering problem.
