Job summary

NHS Grampian invites applications for a Consultant Physician in Medicine for the Elderly to support geriatric services across Moray. The post includes inpatient care at Dr Gray’s Hospital and community liaison with GP practices to promote timely, proactive interventions.

Applicants should have full GMC registration, with higher specialist training leading to CCT or close to entry, and CESR/Portfolio Pathway options considered. Flexible/agile working and on-call shifts may be involved.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration is required before starting.
• Higher Specialist Training leading to CCT or within 6 months of entry to the GMC Specialist Register.
• CESR or Portfolio Pathway qualification recognized by GMC for substantive posts.
• Internationally recognised qualifications may be considered with GMC entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and community geriatric care at Dr Gray’s Hospital and associated sites.
• Contribute to Frailty pathways and multidisciplinary care networks across Grampian.
• Support out-of-hours work and on-call rota for Medicine for the Elderly.
• Develop subspecialist interests (e.g., Frailty, Stroke, Movement Disorders) as needed.
