A respected ground investigation contractor is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer to work on diverse projects in London. You will design and manage ground investigations, supervise site works, and produce geotechnical reports. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Geology, experience in consultancy, and a full UK driving license.   • Experience within ground investigation or geotechnical consultancy.
  • Able to commute to London‑based projects.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and managing ground investigations.
  • Supervising site works and coordinating drilling contractors.
  • Producing Phase 1 desk studies and interpretative geotechnical reports.
  • Undertaking geotechnical risk assessments.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal design teams.
  • Supporting project delivery from tender stage through to completion.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.

Job Title: Geotechnical Project Engineer

Location: London

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)

The successful Geotechnical Project Engineer will work across a diverse range of projects, delivering ground investigation and geotechnical works both on site and in the office. Projects will include residential, commercial, and major infrastructure developments.

You will have the opportunity to work for a respected ground investigation contractor that has a strong pipeline of projects coming up in 2026.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Designing and managing ground investigations
  • Supervising site works and coordinating drilling contractors
  • Producing Phase 1 desk studies and interpretative geotechnical reports
  • Undertaking geotechnical risk assessments
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal design teams
  • Supporting project delivery from tender stage through to completion
  • Mentoring junior engineers while gaining further technical and project management experience through close collaboration with senior and principal engineers
