Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a respected geotechnical consultancy in Cardiff. You will lead geotechnical projects across residential, commercial, infrastructure and industrial developments, take ownership of ground investigations, and deliver high-quality interpretative and design reports.

The role requires a degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering or related field, strong consultancy experience, excellent report-writing skills, and the ability to liaise

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
• Strong consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering.
• Excellent report writing and ground interpretation skills.
• Experience managing projects and liaising directly with clients.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing geotechnical projects from proposal through to completion.
• Designing and specifying intrusive ground investigations.
• Producing geotechnical interpretative reports and design recommendations.
• Providing advice on foundations, retaining walls, earthworks and ground improvement.
• Reviewing technical reports and ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard.
• Mentoring junior members of the team.
• Attending client meetings and supporting the development of new business opportunities.
• Undertaking occasional site visits to oversee ground investigations.
